Seminar Series: Dr. Sunghan Kim - What can we learn from modern astronomy about the biblical worldview?

The community is invited to join us at the East Carolina Study Center for a free dinner and then talk with Dr. Sunghan Kim as he asks the questions “What can we learn from modern astronomy about the biblical worldview?”

Career Bio: Dr. Sunghan Kim joined ECU in 2012 after completing three years of post-doctoral training at the UCLA Neurosurgery department as a biomedical engineer. Since then, he has been teaching biomedical and electrical engineering courses. His research focuses on understanding the relation between cognitive declines and the brain’s functional connectivity by analyzing EEG signals. His research lab, BEACoN Lab., carries out various cognitive neuroscience research projects involving ECU students and even local high school students.

Dinner will be served first, followed by speaker/ discussion
Attire: Casual

Mark J. Cherry is the Dr. Patricia A. Hayes Professor in Applied Ethics and Professor of Philosophy at St. Edward’s University, Austin, Texas. He earned his undergraduate degree in philosophy from the University of Houston and his doctorate degree in philosophy from Rice University in Houston, Texas. His research compasses ethics and bioethics, together with social and political philosophy.

Seminar Series: Every Bite, Every Choice: Living to Honor and Glorify God by Dr. Toyin Babatunde

ECSC is proud to welcome Dr. Toyin Babatunde as a guest speaker for our Seminar Series. She has been in the field of dietetics and nutrition for over 35 years and has been a nutrition educator teaching at the college level since 2003. Before academia, she practiced as a clinical and community dietitian and nutritionist in her native country, Nigeria, the Caribbean islands of Jamaica, and the Bahamas.
